The Story Behind the Name

I started my first business in 2004 with $800 and a laptop. Back then it felt it was like waking up every day to push on a twenty-ton wheel - every client hard won, every system built from scratch, every mistake a lesson. There was no glamour (or money!), just the weight of responsibility and the hope that if I kept showing up, one day things would turn more easily.

Jim Collins, arguably the most influential business author of our generation, described the flywheel like this: at first it barely moves, but with each push it gathers momentum. Slowly at first, then faster, until the same effort produces more and more progress.

That idea has been true in my own journey. Over the years I've gone from those early days with a laptop on the kitchen table to building and leading multinational businesses. And what I've learned along the way is that the moment when the wheel begins to turn - when discipline, systems, and persistence compound - is transformative. It brings freedom, confidence, and possibility.

That's what the name Valont stands for. From the Spanish volante - a flywheel - it's about the steady push that leads to lasting change and momentum. It's about giving small business owners the same chance to feel momentum without having to carry the burden alone.

I know the weight of payroll, the burden of compliance, continually managing cash flow and risk. I know the loneliness of carrying it all. And I also know the relief when things finally move, when discipline and systems give you back control and unlock the potential. Valont exists to make that journey shorter, clearer, and less heavy - to help business owners find their own momentum and see just how far it can take them.
