Local market

Who hires carpenters in Port Lincoln

Port Lincoln is Australia's seafood capital: southern bluefin tuna ranching in Boston Bay, Clean Seas' kingfish, mussels, oysters and prawns support a fleet, hatchery and processing economy, alongside Viterra's grain terminal shipping the Eyre Peninsula harvest. Fishing and aquaculture's employment share is among the highest in the country.

Clean Seas Seafood, Tony's Tuna International, Viterra (Port Lincoln grain terminal) and Eyre and Far North Local Health Network (Port Lincoln Hospital) are among the largest employers in Port Lincoln. Most carpenters here, though, are hired by small and mid-sized businesses rather than by the names everyone recognises — which is why so many local vacancies never reach a big job board.
