Outsourced bookkeeping, kept current.
Transactions recorded, reconciled and reported in your existing Xero or MYOB file. Routine work runs automatically, exceptions go to a specialist, and your advisor explains what the numbers mean.
The short answer
Bookkeeping is the day-to-day recording, categorising and reconciling of a business’s transactions so its accounts stay current, and management accounting interprets that data into reports that show what the numbers mean. At Valont, both are delivered together as the recording-and-reporting function within your finance hub — one part of a wider connected back office — with a Trusted Advisor adding commentary, while your independent accountant continues to handle annual tax returns.
Outsourced bookkeeping at a glance
Scope and fee confirmed in writing before you start- What’s included
- Bank reconciliation, transaction categorisation, accounts payable and receivable, receipt capture and management reporting with advisor commentary — in your existing Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or Wave file. Multi-entity consolidation where you need it. BAS can be prepared straight from the reconciled data through BAS & tax compliance; year-end tax returns stay with your accountant.
- How often the books are reconciled and reported
- Bank feeds are matched on a daily cycle and the books are kept current rather than caught up at BAS time. Management reports are produced at the cadence agreed in your engagement, with your advisor’s commentary on what has changed and why.
- What you do
- Keep the bank feeds connected, send bills and receipts through the capture tool, answer the occasional query on a transaction we can’t identify, and sign off on anything that needs your approval, such as supplier payments. The processing, reconciliation and reporting are ours.
- Getting started
- We connect to your file, review the chart of accounts and controls, and bring any backlog current — the catch-up is part of onboarding, not a separate charge. A single bookkeeping file is usually a matter of weeks; a broader back-office transition follows our structured onboarding and takes longer.
- How the work is checked
- Routine transactions are processed automatically against rules documented for your business. Anything unusual, unmatched or low-confidence is routed to a specialist before it is finalised — the same position we publish in the AI Capability Ledger.
- What sets the fee
- One fixed monthly fee, quoted per engagement after a discovery conversation. It moves with transaction volume, the scope you take (bookkeeping alone, or with BAS and payroll), business size and complexity, and which hubs you engage. No hourly charges on top — see how fees work.

The Reality
Your books are either your most valuable tool or your biggest burden.
You started your business to build something, not to reconcile bank feeds at 10pm. But that's where a lot of owners end up --- doing the bookkeeping themselves after hours, or relying on a bookkeeper who processes transactions without explaining what the numbers mean.
Either way, the financial picture runs behind. Decisions get made on gut feel instead of current information, problems show up late, and when something needs explaining, nobody can tell you why.
Without current, accurate books:
- Hours wasted every month on reconciliation and data entry
- Financial data perpetually 30+ days behind reality
- Can't make cash flow decisions with confidence
- Tax time is a panic because records aren't ready
- Accountant's fees are higher because data is messy
- Cannot apply for funding --- books aren't credible
