Who hires motor mechanics in Hobart
Hobart is Australia's Antarctic gateway — the Australian Antarctic Division is headquartered at Kingston and the city is the home port for Antarctic research and Southern Ocean fishing vessels, giving it an unusual concentration of marine and polar science roles. The Royal Hobart Hospital and the University of Tasmania are the two largest single employers. Tourism and hospitality work is markedly seasonal, peaking over summer with MONA, cruise ship visits and the Sydney to Hobart finish.
Royal Hobart Hospital (Department of Health Tasmania), University of Tasmania, City of Hobart and Australian Antarctic Division are among the largest employers in Hobart. Most motor mechanics here, though, are hired by small and mid-sized businesses rather than by the names everyone recognises — which is why so many local vacancies never reach a big job board.
