Warehousing, Storage and Distribution jobs in Mandurah
Warehousing, Storage and Distribution in Mandurah involves the same work as it does anywhere in Australia, but who employs you, and under which registration or clearance, is local. Mandurah's largest employing industries are Health Care and Social Assistance, Retail Trade and Construction, which shapes both where the work is and how steady it tends to be. Licensing is set by Western Australia, not nationally — the requirements below are the ones that apply here.

Licensing
Licensing for warehousing, storage and distribution in WA
There is no licence needed simply to work in a warehouse. What is licensed is high risk work — most importantly operating a forklift (class LF) or an order picking forklift (class LO). A high risk work licence is issued by the work health and safety regulator in the state or territory where you apply, after training and assessment by a registered training organisation accredited by that regulator. The classes are national and the licences are mutually recognised in every state and territory, so an LF licence issued in Queensland is valid in Western Australia; you renew with the regulator where you live. High risk work licences run for five years. Beyond that, the main jurisdictional variation is which regulator you deal with and which safety legislation your employer sits under: every jurisdiction except Victoria now operates under the model work health and safety laws, while Victoria retains the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004. Sites handling food, chemicals or dangerous goods may add further state-based requirements.
- Western Australia
- High risk work licences are issued by WorkSafe WA, which sits within the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety. Western Australia adopted the model work health and safety laws through the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, which commenced in 2022 — bringing WA into line with the eastern states on WHS, even though WA remains outside the Heavy Vehicle National Law. LF and LO licences are nationally recognised.
Licensing rules change. Confirm with the regulator named above before quoting or contracting — this page is a starting point, not advice.

Who hires in warehousing, storage and distribution in Mandurah
Mandurah is a Peel services and commuter city rather than an industrial one. An older-than-average population drives health and aged care demand at Peel Health Campus, which returned to public operation under South Metropolitan Health Service in 2023, while Alcoa's Pinjarra refinery, Huntly mine and the Kwinana strip absorb the trades workforce via the freeway and rail line.
City of Mandurah, Peel Health Campus (South Metropolitan Health Service), Alcoa of Australia (Pinjarra alumina refinery and Huntly bauxite mine) and South Metropolitan TAFE (Mandurah campus) are among the largest employers in Mandurah. Most people working in warehousing, storage and distribution here, though, are hired by small and mid-sized businesses rather than by the names everyone recognises — which is why so many local vacancies never reach a big job board.
Largest employing industries
106,827 people (City of Mandurah (Local Government Area), ABS Estimated Resident Population at 30 June 2025 (Regional population, 2024-25, released 31 March 2026)).
