What is Management accounts?

Finance & accounting. A plain-English definition for Australian business owners.

Management accounts are internal financial reports produced for the owner and management team to support decision-making.

They typically include monthly P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and KPI dashboard. Unlike statutory financial statements, management accounts are tailored to the business's specific needs and may include segment, product-line, or job-costing breakdowns.

In a connected back office this sits with the Finance hub, where Valont runs bookkeeping, managed payroll and bas & tax compliance for Australian SMEs as one team. The full definition set is on the glossary.
