Employment Services jobs in Australia
Employment services workers help jobseekers who face barriers to work — long-term unemployment, disability, youth disengagement, refugee background or justice contact — to find and keep a job. Most roles sit with providers contracted to deliver Commonwealth programs such as Workforce Australia, Disability Employment Services and Transition to Work, or with Australian Disability Enterprises.

Licensing
Licensing by state
There is no occupational licence or registration for employment services consultants. The binding requirements come from the Commonwealth contract you work under and from state screening law. Because caseloads routinely include people aged under 18 through programs such as Transition to Work, most providers require the child-related clearance for their state or territory as a condition of employment. Disability Employment Services and supported employment roles that deliver NDIS supports require an NDIS Worker Screening Check, which is applied for through your state or territory screening unit and is then portable nationally. A National Police Check is standard, and a driver licence is commonly required for employer visits and on-site support.
- the Australian Capital Territory
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration from Access Canberra. The ACT scheme's coverage of vulnerable adults means it captures most disability employment work, not just youth caseloads.
- New South Wales
- Working With Children Check (WWCC) clearance from the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian for youth-focused caseloads. Disability Employment Services roles delivering NDIS supports require an NDIS Worker Check, also issued by the Office of the Children's Guardian.
- the Northern Territory
- Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) via SAFE NT for youth-focused programs, valid two years. NDIS-funded disability employment roles also require an NDIS Worker Screening Check lodged through SAFE NT.
- Queensland
- Blue Card from Blue Card Services (Department of Families, Seniors, Disability Services and Child Safety) where the caseload includes people under 18, such as Transition to Work participants; 'no card, no start' applies. Disability employment and supported employment roles also require an NDIS Worker Screening Check through the Queensland Worker Screening Unit.
- South Australia
- Working with Children Check from the DHS Screening Unit for youth-facing roles, valid five years with continuous monitoring. NDIS supported employment roles need an NDIS Worker Check from the same DHS Screening Unit.
- Tasmania
- Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) from Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS), Department of Justice — Tasmania's single registration covers both child-related and NDIS categories, so nominate the ones that match your caseload.
- Victoria
- Working with Children Clearance from Working with Children Check Victoria (Department of Justice and Community Safety) for work with under-18 participants. NDIS-funded supported employment roles require a Victorian NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Western Australia
- Working with Children (WWC) Check through the WWC Screening Unit, Department of Communities, for youth caseloads. NDIS-funded disability employment roles require an NDIS Worker Screening Check, also administered by the Department of Communities.
