• Tasmania has NO Easter Saturday and NO Easter Sunday public holiday — do not copy these from NSW/VIC/QLD/ACT payroll calendars. Easter Tuesday exists but generally applies to the Tasmanian Public Service only.
• Boxing Day 2026 falls on Saturday 26 December: in TAS the public holiday is Monday 28 December 2026 ONLY — the Saturday is not itself a holiday (contrast Christmas Day, where the official rule makes both the weekend day and the following Mon/Tue holidays; not triggered in FY2026-27 since 25 Dec 2026 is a Friday).
• ANZAC Day 2027 falls on Sunday 25 April: Tasmania observes NO substitute or additional holiday when ANZAC Day falls on a weekend — payroll gets no Monday holiday.
• No statewide public holidays fall between 1 July 2026 and 24 December 2026; every Jul-Nov 2026 entry (Burnie/Royal Launceston/Flinders Island/Royal Hobart/Devonport Shows and Recreation Day) is regional-only — apply by employee work location (municipal area).
• Recreation Day (2 Nov 2026, northern TAS) and Royal Hobart Regatta (8 Feb 2027, southern TAS) are mutually exclusive: Recreation Day applies only in parts of the state that do NOT observe the Regatta, so no location gets both.
• Devonport Cup (6 Jan 2027) is a HALF-DAY holiday, Devonport municipal area only, and generally Tasmanian State Service only. Launceston Cup (24 Feb 2027) is generally Tasmanian State Service only, and within Launceston City centre and listed suburbs it applies only from 11am (all-day in the other listed northern municipal areas).
• Royal Hobart Show region includes Bronte Park, Strathgordon, Tarraleah and Wayatinah but EXCLUDES West Coast; West Coast instead observes the Burnie Show (2 Oct 2026). The Regatta region also excludes West Coast and Catagunya.
• Tasmania has no separate bank/public-service bank holiday (no NSW-style August Bank Holiday).
• WorkSafe's own caution: a day being listed as a statutory holiday does not automatically entitle an employee to the day off or penalty rates — coverage depends on the applicable award/agreement/NES (Fair Work Ombudsman 13 13 94).
• Shop trading: the Shop Trading Hours Act 1984 restricts large retailers on Christmas Day and Good Friday.
