What is Reportable fringe benefits?
Payroll & people. A plain-English definition for Australian business owners.
Reportable fringe benefits are fringe benefits provided to an employee that exceed a threshold value and must be reported on the employee's payment summary.
They affect calculations for HELP repayments, Medicare levy surcharge, and certain government benefits — even though they're not taxable income to the employee. Common reportable items include novated leases and salary-sacrifice arrangements above threshold.
In a connected back office this sits with the People hub, where Valont runs award compliance, hr & ir advisory and employer advice line for Australian SMEs as one team. The full definition set is on the glossary.
